New European sub agents for Miramax

International sub agents have been appointed to handle Miramax properties in Europe, Latin America and Asia-Pacific.

Licensing firm Evolution, which looks after merchandise stemming from movie studio Miramax’s portfolio of over 700 films (including Pulp Fiction, pictured), announced the appointments.

In Europe, the following firms have been appointed: Sagoo in France; Celebrities Entertainment GmbH in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland; BN Licensing B.V. in the Netherlands; Rizon in the UK and Ireland; and Ink TM A/S in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.

For Asia-Pacific, the international sub agents are as follows: Merchantwise Pty Ltd in Australia and New Zealand; Asiana Licensing in Korea; Blue Sky International LLP in Japan, and Empire Multimedia Corporation in Hong Kong, Peoples Republic of China, Taiwan, Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam.

In Latin America, Brandvida LLC will handle Mexico, Brazil, Chile and Peru.

Kalman J. Istok has also joined Evolution as VP of International Licensing, who will oversee Evolution’s international sub agents.

He spent three years as Chairman of the Board for Denmark’s Ink, and two years as CEO and Director of Emerging Markets at Kidz Entertainment.

Istok also founded EEMC, the first American licensing agency focused entirely on Eastern Europe and Russia in 1992, and served as its President for over 15 years.

“The potential housed within the Miramax library has attracted a diverse, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable group of international sub-agents around the world, and we are very excited to begin working with this impressive group,” said Travis J. Rutherford, President of Licensing and Retail Development at Evolution.
