Hit Entertainment and Fisher-Price have created a hands-on, STEM-based (science, technology, engineering and maths) exhibit featuring the world of Thomas & Friends.
The new exhibit will debut in the Minnesota Children’s Museum in summer 2014 and will introduce young children to Thomas the Tank Engine and other characters from the Island of Sodor.
The June 2014 opening will mark the beginning of a ten-year tour of children’s museums across the country. It is the first time that Thomas & Friends is being offered as a museum experience in the US.
The exhibit will be designed, developed and built by Minnesota Children’s Museum in partnership with Hit Entertainment. Fisher-Price will be the presenting sponsor.
The 1,500 square foot interactive version of the Island of Sodor will allow children to climb aboard a full size model of Thomas. They will be able to build their own trains and race them along a giant track, work together to sort and load cargo and tend to engines in Tidmouth Sheds.
