Nickelodeon greenlights second series for Shimmer and Shine

Nickelodeon has revealed it’s pre-school show Shimmer and Shine will be getting a second series.

Airing in June, the new series will introduce new characters, including Zeta a sorceress who uses potions and spells, Nazboo who plays Zeta’s pet dragon, Samira a kind genie princess, Roya who is Samira’s pet peacock and Kaz who plays the role of Zac’s new genie and friend.

Plus, the new series will feature CG animation and will be set in the genie world of Zahramay Falls.

Season one of Shimmer and Shine will continue to air on Nickelodeon throughout February and March, and currently ranks number one in its timeslot.

This news comes after Nickelodeon announced its partnership with Fisher-Price, to launch a range of toys based on the show.
