Using a digital printing process and interactive touch screens, YR Store allows customers to design their own garments in-store and produces them in-store.

The new deal will see the firm’s interactive archve filled with characters from the popular children’s animation, SpongeBob SquarePants.

Furthermore, SpongeBob, Patrick, Plankton, Gary and Sandy Cheeks will also be available for Christmas imagery.

In addition to the SpongeBob portfolio, the deal will see the introduction of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Ren and Stimpy show, Rugrats, Hey Arnold and MTV to the initiative.

The YR collection is available exclusively in Topman Oxford Circus.

YR Store founder and commercial director, Tim Williams, said: "It’s really exciting for us to sign this deal with SpongeBob SquarePants, especially as he has already collaborated with so many credible brands.

"We want to allow our customers to bring their own style to all kinds of garments, and we work with the most desirable artwork archives, designs and garments to create truly unique fashion that is individual."

Marianne James, VP consumer products, UK and Ireland and European retail sales and marketing, added: "For SpongeBob to be the first licensed character to appear at YR is a testament to the appeal and cult status of the Sponge.

"Our collaboration with YR will mean that fashion-forward fans will be able to interact with our characters in a way that has never been available to consumers before.

"It is a brilliant opportunity for fans to show off their own creativity and love for our properties and I cannot wait to see what they come up with.”
