Nickelodeon’s Sam and Cat premieres as number one kids’ show

Nickelodeon’s brand new live action series, Sam and Cat premiered in the UK on Monday, October 14th, ranking as the number one kids’ show.

The show pulled in an average of 240,100 kids aged between four and 15, as the enjoyment spread to social media with the hashtag #TeamSamandCat trending on Twitter in the UK.

The show’s success contributed to Nickelodeon rating as the number one kids’ network across the day, alongside a new episode of victorious rating as the number two kids’ show.

Sam and Cat is a spin off comedy from the award winning creator and executive producer, Dan Schneider (Victorious, Drake and Josh).

The premiere follows an on-air, PR and social media launch campaign which saw the show’s star, Jennette McCurdy and Ariana Grande visit the UK for a week of promotional activity, including a premiere at London’s O2, offering fans the chance to be the first to see the new series.
