Shawn Levy in talks with Warner Bros to direct the big screen adaptation of the hit video game.

Night at the Museum director to helm Minecraft movie

Warner Bros wants Night at the Museum director Shawn Levy to step behind the camera for the Minecraft movie.

Deadline reports the studio is currently holding talks with Levy, who has directed every Night at the Museum movie as well as Cheaper By the Dozen, The Pink Panther remake, Real Steel and The Internship.

The game was created by Swedish developer Mojang, and the film is being produced by The LEGO Movie producer Roy Lee through his Vertigo banner along with Jill Messick.

The Minecraft movie has no release date at present.
