Nintendo and Aardman team to bring Shaun the Sheep to Super Mario Maker

Nintendo has detailed a new partnership with Oscar-winning studio Aardman to bring Shaun the Sheep to the hit videogame Super Mario Maker.

Available for Wii U in-game play from June 3rd, the deal will offer players the ability to unlock a Shaun the Sheep costume for Mario once he completes a new Even Course titled Shaun’s Mossy Mole Mischief.

The addition is the result of a recent close working partnership between Aardman and Nintendo to bring Shaun’s Mossy Bottom Farm into the Mushroom Kingdom.

“Having grown up in a generation of technology that, due to its nature of exposing its inner workings, allowed you to build and adjust your own games – it’s what inspired me and many here in Aardman’s interactive team to do what we do,” said Daniel Efergan, digital group creative director at Aardman.

“Super Mario Maker harks back to that age, inspiring a new generation of happy creators. To have one of our icons hanging out with one of our idols, and for such an exceptional project, is a dream come true.”

Super Mario Maker enables players to play, create and share their own Super Mario courses, with some 6.2 million courses available to play from fans across the globe.
