A new children’s entertainment firm has opened its doors, founded by a brace of execs boasting a host of experience at Hit Entertainment, Spellbound, Endemol and Action Time between them.
Nurture Rights is the brainchild of producers Peter Curtis and Nick Barrington. And it already has its first property – top selling literary brand, Dinosaur Roar.
First published in 1994 by Ragged Bears Publishing, the book has sold over five million copies worldwide and has been translated into more than 30 languages.
Nurture’s plans include a new website, an interactive touring museum exhibition, a 3D IMAX experience and a series of live events. A licensing programme is being developed to run alongside the new activity.
"We are very excited about our new venture and the acquisition of Dinosaur Roar," said Curtis. "Today’s media environment provides exciting opportunities to tell stories that unfold across a wide range of media, and Dinosaur Roar is particularly well suited to this approach."
Curtis and Barrington’s other company – Spellbound Entertainment – will continue to market The Koala Brothers, and will focus on more traditional television-led properties.
