Oddbods enters VR, AR, mobile gaming

One Animation has announced that its hit, emmy-nominated animated series Oddbods will be making the leap into gaming this year.

A series of mobile games will be heading to iOS, Android and Google Play platforms thanks to partnerships with several developers including Tiny Build, MAMO Games, Maysalward and SEGA subsidiary, Go Games.

The titles will aim to combine the freemium gameplay model, trending themes with the hilarious antics of the seven much loved Oddbods characters.

Oddbods mobile game players will be able to interact with the characters across racing, hide and seek, spot the difference and strategy play. An Oddbods augmented reality colouring app will allow fans to customise their favourite character with their own artistic flair in 3D.

Meanwhile, a virtual reality freemium game offering a 360 fully immersive viewer experience also joins the progressive portfolio available on Google Cardboard, Google Daydream and Samsung Gear VR.

“We are delighted to have partnered with such incredible developers to take Oddbods onto the global mobile and VR stage," said Sashim Parmanand. "The freemium models, easy game play, power ups and multi-player options will mean the brand is even more accessible to our global fanbase.”

The games will roll out globally throughout Q1, Q2 and Q3.
