Children’s animated series Oddbods is on track to deliver ‘big things’ to the UK toy and entertainment sector, as the hit pre-school series prepares for its long-form UK launch on Turner’s Boomerang channel.
The series will air on the popular children’s network this month and arrives as One Animation, the studio behind the pre-school show, and its EU master toy partner Rp2 ready to deliver merchandise to retailers this summer.
Having rocketed to success in its shorter form on ITV last year, expectations are high among the series’ toy partners, including Golden Bear for UK and Ireland distribution, that the show will have a bright future in the market.
Simon Cox, managing director of Rp2, told Licensing.biz that ‘following a successful launch’ coupled with ‘astounding viewing figures,’ Oddbods is "set to deliver big things in the toy space."
Comprising of 60 seven-minute episodes, the new Oddbods series will air on Boomerang in the UK as it simultaneously rolls out across the rest of EMEA and Latin America.

The first range of toys inspired by the show are expected to land on shelves across the UK and Ireland this June.

“We have already heard from a number of independents at Toy Fair that they are being asked for products so the demand is certainly out there.”
