Parragon launches first Talking Friends annuals

Outfit 7 and Parragon have joined forces to create the first ever book based on the Talking Friends app characters.

The new annual will launch in UK retailers this July.

Featuring a host of 14 characters such as Talking Tom Cat, Ben, Pierre, Ginger and Angela, the Talking friends apps have been downloaded 900 million times, and have over 500 million views on YouTube.

The deal – brokered by Beanstalk – will now see the characters enter the world of publishing for the first time.

Venetia Davie, VP of new business development at paragon, said: "Talking Friends have long been popular in the app and social media space.

"With huge appeal to both parents and children alike, we’re excited to have developed their world into publishing.

"The distinct personalities and loveable humour of each character has been great to capture and convey via print and we look forward to working with Outfit 7 on the launch of this year’s annual."
