British designer Paul Smith has created a new look for his favourite classic children’s book, Richard Scarry’s Cars and Trucks and Things that Go.
There will be two editions available – a limited edition deluxe box set and a hardback edition in slipcase. Both will be published by HarperCollins Children’s Books in November to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Cars and Trucks and Things that Go.
The deluxe box set will be limited to 1,000 copies, each signed by Smith. Featuring a linen-covered box, a hardback edition of the book, five art prints in a portfolio and a hand-numbered and signed certificate of authenticity, the package also includes three press-out-and-make vehicles and a pop-up scene.
All items will be exclusively designed for this edition, which will be priced at £200.
A hardback edition in slipcase will feature new Paul Smith covers and packaging and will be priced at £25.

Smith added: "I’ve always been a fan of Richard Scarry’s work and have lots of his books around my house, and so when I was invited to be involved in helping celebrate the 40th anniversary of Cars and Trucks and Things that Go, I leapt at the opportunity.
"As a children’s writer and illustrator, Richard was incredibly perceptive, from the tense face of a fireman to the cheekiness of a postman, he really knew how to create a character and his observations of everyday life are brilliant."
