Penguin publishes new Battersea Dogs and Cats Home title, Lost and Found

Battersea Cats and Dogs Home has launched its new title ‘Lost and Found’ a collection of real life animal stories, published by Penguin.

The collection of 12 tales is told by those people who have re-homed dogs and cats all over the UK and abroad in a way that will ‘tug at the heartstrings of the UK’s millions of animal lovers.’

Stories include the likes of one woman’s battle with cancer and the companionship she found in her Staffie and a three legged kitten who befriended a widower.

"We are thrilled to launch ‘Lost and Found’ with Penguin Books," said Lucy McCredie, licensing consultant at Battersea.

"The stories are a perfect snapshot of the work that Battersea carries out in re-homing animals and how providing a new home for a dog or cat in need doesn’t just transform their lives, but the lives of their new owners.

"We really hope readers will enjoy these uplifting tales from battersea which will earn valuable royalties for the Home."

Royalties from the book sales will go towards the animal charity. Battersea has rescued, reunited and re-homed over 3.1million dogs and cats since it was founded in 1860.

Battersea senior re-homer, Vicky Snook, added: "each of the stories express how life changing a pet can be to an individual or a family and everyone will be able to identify with the stories in the book.

"The bonds that are created between owners and pets and with each other will have readers hooked on the stories fro start to end."
