Penguin to publish CBeebies’ Go Jetters book collection

Penguin has acquired the global publishing rights to the new CBeebies pre-school series Go Jetters, scheduled to air this autumn/winter.

Under the new deal, Penguin will develop a range of book titles aimed at three to eight year olds, including picture, activity and novelty books.

The series will be printed in all languages under the Ladybird imprint and will cover the show’s themes of exploration, adventure and teamwork upon release in 2016.

The deal is just part of Penguin’s ongoing joint venture with BBC Worldwide.

Making its debut on CBeebies this autumn, Go Jetters is a pre-school animation series taking audiences on a journey around the Earth.

The series follows the adventures of Jetters Kyan, Xuli, Foz and Lars who are advised along their adventures by a funk-loving unicorn teachers called Ubercorn who acts as a friendly mentor.

“We are delighted to be publishing Go Jetters on our Ladybird list next year,” said Juliet Matthews, publishing director at Penguin Children.

“It is an energetic and exciting show which not only provides great entertainment but also enables us to include fantastic geographical soft learning through stories, activities and novelties, adding an extra dimension to action packed publishing.”

Andrew Moultrie, director of consumer products, publishing and web properties at BBC Worldwide, added: “The Penguin deal is a welcome addition to a growing portfolio of licensing partners for this innovative new brand.

“Go Jetters is a thrilling show that takes children on exciting adventures across the world, and I am looking forward to seeing how they take young fans’ enjoyment of the show even further.”
