Toei Animation has expanded its corporate management team, in conjunction with plans to increase co-production and digital media/mobile opportunities in the US market.
Kozo Morishita has become chairman and CEO of Toei Animation (LA office) and doubles as MD of Toei Animation. In his new role, Morishita will be responsible for the contents business and international business, as well as exploring co-production opportunities.
Kanji Kazahaya is now president and COO of Toei, as well as director of the international department.
In addition, Kenji Ebato is the new executive VP and general manager of the firm, as well as chief manager of the licensing team in the international department.
Finally, Sae Song has been appointed to manage Toei's digital media and mobile content operations in the US.
As part of the company's new initiative, Toei is planning to develop a co-production program specifically for the US market within the next two years.
The new team is also planning to roll out Japanese digital media/mobile contents in the US and introduce US content to Japanese consumers and other global markets.
