Pepe Le Pew movie in the works

Warner Bros has detailed its plans to release a movie based on its most pungent Parisian character, Pepe Le Pew.

The studio’s intentions were revealed at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con when screenwriter Max Landis unveiled his ties to the animated project.

Best known for his work with Power Rangers and Chronicle, Landis confirmed his involvement on Twitter, indicating that the movie will adopt a romantic, French New Wave 60s heist movie tone.

He also confirmed that Penelope the cat will feature, while Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies’ Pepe Le Pew will be up to his usual antics, in the unrelenting search for love.

Pepe Le Pew made his first appearance in 1945 whose pursuit of a black cat he mistakes for a skunk was well documented through the animated series.

In 2010 it was reproeted that Mike Myers would take on the voice of Pepe Le Pew in a live-action feature from Warner Bros.

However, there has been no indication as to Myers’ involvement in the new project.
