Personalisation platform Spreadshirt grows licensed lines with Rick and Morty

Animated cult comedy series Rick and Morty has entered the personalisation space through an exclusive new deal with the e-commerce site, Spreadshirt.

The move marks the €100 million e-commerce company’s expansion into the TV and movie licensing arena.

30 new designs have landed at the international merchandising company, each reflecting the wild escapades of the series and its central characters – the alcoholic scientific genius Rick and his grandson Morty.

The slate of new motifs are available for t-shirts, hoodies, cups and caps.

“We have had a lot of fun creating these awesome Rick and Morty designs in-house and they’re exclusively available at Spreadshirt,” said Ann-Katrin Hager, licensing manager at Spreadshirt.

“New characters or quotes from the upcoming season can be incorporated into designs very quickly. So Rick and Morty fans won’t have to wait long for their new favourite t-shirt.”

The merchandise based on this award-winning TV series is already a huge hit with millennials, but Spreadshirt is hoping that cartoon fans of all ages will pick up the line.

“This is also an example of the €100 million e-commerce company expanding its licensing portfolio into the TV and film sector,” said Katrin-Hager.

Rick and Morty is billed as one of the most successful series on US TV, with 70 new episodes currently in production. The cartoon by Justin Roiland reaches an average of 2.5 million viewers under the age of 30 worldwide.
