Former Jakks Pacific exec Carl England joins Matt Hatter owner.

Platinum Films welcomes new MD

Platinum Films has welcomed a new managing director, with former Jakks Pacific man Carl England taking on the role.

England (pictured) will lead the international licensing and merchandising roll out of Matt Hatter Chronicles. He has also been tasked with growing other brands in the firm’s portfolio, including BAFTA nominated pre-school series Dream Street and kids cooking adventure format, Planet Cook.

England held the role of head of international licensing at Jakks, while he has previously enjoyed stints at Disney, Timberland and Canterbury.

"Carl joins Platinum Films at an incredibly exciting time. There is no doubt that his invaluable knowledge and vast experience of the licensing industry will add great value to an already strong and creative team, and fuel the success of our rapidly expanding commercial business," said Nigel Stone, Platinum’s CEO.

England added: "I am delighted to be joining Platinum and to be working with such a talented team across a rich and diverse property portfolio."
