Firm strikes three-year deal for all physical book formats and e-books.

PUBLISHING MONTH: Now Penguin grabs Plants vs Zombies

Penguin Children’s has acquired the physical and e-book publishing rights for PopCap’s video games hit Plants vs Zombies.

The new three-year deal will see the firm create a number of books. The first – Plants vs Zombies Official Guide, The Official Sticker Book and the Plants vs Zombies Joke Book – will be published in August.

Richard Haines, acquisition manager, media and entertainment, at Penguin Children’s said: "When I first started playing Plants vs Zombies and defending my house from hordes of hilarious zombies, I was instantly hooked, not only by the incredible gameplay but also by the wonderful range of characters and unique humour.

"We are really excited to be partnering with PopCap on this project and plan on creating funny, interactive and engaging books which will help millions and millions of fans to protect their homes and their brains and enjoy the brand in great new ways."
