A slate of Disney blockbusters awaiting cinematic release throughout the year has set Rainbow Designs on course for what it believes will be a ‘monumental 12 months.’
The firm is bracing itself for action with new collections based on the upcoming releases Dumbo, Toy Story 4, Lion King and more, as well as expanding its best-selling classic character lines.
The firm has launched 30 new lines this year featuring new and classic licensed characters including Disney Baby Dumbo, Disney Baby Toy Story and Disney Baby Simba collections. On show ahead of the second half launch is the new That’s Not My… collection of nursery toys, based on Usborne’s best-selling book series.
Anthony Temple, managing director of Rainbow Designs, said: “2019 looks set to be one of our most monumental years yet in terms of new licenses, new collections and the volume of new product lines we are launching.
“We are delighted to be welcoming new licenses to our product portfolio as well as expanding some of our best-selling and much loved classic character lines.”
This year is also the milestone 50th anniversary for Eric Carle’s The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Rainbow will mark the occasion with the launch of the Tiny and Very Hungry Caterpillar collection of nursery toys and essentials.
Also joining Rainbow’s portfolio of classic characters is the new Spot collection, launching ahead of Spot’s 40th anniversary in 2020.
Retailers can also find My First Thomas & Friends nursery lines, previewed at Toy Fair and launching later this year.
