Rainbow Productions readies for Easter Bank Holiday events

Rainbow Productions is gearing up to manage licensed children’s character activities over what is set to be a busy Bank Holiday Easter weekend for the mascot manufacturer and character events company.

In addition to supporting a FremantleMedia Kate and Mim-Mim branded activity across 14 intu shopping centres this Easter – kicking off with Mim-Mim experiential character activities on March 31st at intu Milton Keynes and running until Mim-Mim’s visit to intu Lakeside on April 17th – Rainbow Productions will also be placing stars from the world of television, film and online in front of family audiences at a range of venues across the UK – particularly within the retail and leisure sector.

Specifically over the Easter period, London retail stores such as Selfridges and Harrods will be hosting character events, adding even more interactivity to their in-store experience. Shoppers visiting Smyths Toys in Glasgow Fort Shopping Park on Easter Saturday will have an opportunity to meet Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob SquarePants; while visitors to the Smyths Toys store in Wallsend, Tyne and Wear will be able to see Dreamworks’ Oh character, from the movie Home.

Personal appearances, character narrations, mini shows and branded treasure hunt activities are scheduled to take place over the Easter holidays – many within shopping centre environments, located across most UK regions.

As well as placing the brand in front of pre-schoolers, third-party clients such as shopping centres are tapping into character events as another way of appealing to family audiences in their catchment areas, as they compete for footfall this Easter.

Within the visitor attractions sector, this Easter families will have opportunities to interact with children’s brands during live appearances hosted at venues including Blenheim Palace, Weymouth Sea Life, The Milky Way in North Devon, Woburn Safari Park, farm parks, heritage railways and racecourses. Peppa Pig will also making appearances at London’s Heathrow airport.

Rainbow Productions has acquired several new licensed properties for 2015, adding to the portfolio of characters managed at live events across the UK. These include Bing and Flop, Boj, the Clangers, The Gruffalo, Mim-Mim, the Twirlywoos and The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
