New comedy animation series puts an updated spin on classic fairytale characters with Rose Cinderella, Travis Beast and Hawk Snowwhite

Rainbow to introduce Royal Academy at MIP Junior

European animation studio Rainbow is heading to MIP Junior 2013 to unveil its brand new kids entertainment property, Royal Academy.

The new comedy series, aimed at children aged five to ten, is a revamped take on some of the most recognisable fairy tales, starring the adventures of Rose Cinderella.

Studying at Royal Academy, Rose joins classmates including Hawk Snowwhite, Travis Beast, Pearl Rapunzel and Violet LeFrog.

Rainbox, the studio behind the international hit Winx Club, will be taking the 26 half hour episodes of Rainbow Academy to the annual animation festival in Cannes.

"To say we’re excited about Royal Academy is an understatement, as this new series is going to be phenomenal," said Iginio Straffi, chairman and CEO of Rainbow Group.

"This is the product of many years work by the Rainbow team and everything about it – animation, script, voice acting and music – is absolutely top notch, so everybody is going to be blown away when they see it."
