To mark the 100th anniversary of May Gibbs’ book Gumnut Babies, Merchantwise has teamed up with Australian firm Kip & Co to develop a line of bedlinen and homewares.

The limited edition range for kids will see the author’s bush babies depicted across a line of bedding, blankets, cushions, sleepwear, play-mats and Santa sacks.

“We are incredibly excited to be collaborating with Kip & Co on this limited edition May Gibbs inspired range of bedlinen and homewares,” said Rosalie May, May Gibbs brand manager at Merchantwise.

“The range is currently available for pre-order via the Kip & Co website and already, due to the significant demand for the product, we anticipate selling out pieces before the range officially goes on sale.”

Prices for the collection start from $35 and reach up to $219.

Kate Heppell, from Kip & Co, added: “Hand on heart, this is our proudest collaboration yet. May Gibbs was huge in both our families, so we were over the moon when we had the opportunity to collaborate.

"There was something very nostalgic and sentimental for us all about creating a range that drew on stories that were such a feature of our own childhoods, and can now be passed on to our kids.”
