This year's big Regent Street Christmas light switch on will take place this Saturday (November 9th), with two of the stars of Dreamworks' Mr Peabody & Sherman having the honour.
Emmy Award winning actor Ty Burrell and Hollywood film director Rob Minkoff will be flicking the switch on the day, which will see Regent Street become traffic free and also host a number of catwalk shows and stage entertainment. This will be hosted by Heart Breakfast presenters Jamie Theakston and Emma Bunton.
The lights depict the upcoming Mr Peabody & Sherman, a new family comedy adventure which will be released by 20th Century Fox in the UK and Ireland on February 7th, 2014.
"We're extremely excited to be sponsoring the biggest ever Christmas light display on Regent Street with our new family adventure comedy from Dreamworks Animation, Mr Peabody & Sherman," said Chris Green, theatrical marketing director at 20th Century Fox. "On Saturday November 9th there will be an all-day road closure for VIPeabody Day which will include fun-filled entertainment for the entire family, with a fireworks display following the switch on moment.
"We can't wait to introduce Mr Peabody & Sherman's time travelling adventures; it's a must see for the entire family."
David Shaw, head of Regent Street portfolio at The Crown Estate, added: "Regent Street is thrilled about its Christmas lights partnership with 20th Century Fox and Dreamworks Animation. Mr Peabody & Sherman is a perfect match for our Christmas lights celebrations in that it supports our values of quality, heritage, style and success."
