As brand ambassadors for the PDSA, the Roobarb and Custard characters have been involved in a recent in-store fundraising drive in Asda stores.

Bucket collections took place at 167 stores across the country in February as part of Asda's pet week. Donors received a Roobarb and Custard/PDSA 'thank you' sticker in return for their contribution.

Posters appeared in-store promoting the link up, with 40 of the locations having PDSA vets on hand to answer any pet care questions.

"To raise over £40,000 in a single weekend is a fantastic result," said Rob Corney, MD of Bulldog Licensing which handles Roobarb and Custard. "The British public has huge affection for Roobarb and Custard and that is why they are proving so successful in supporting the PDSA."
