Tesco is running a promotion on craft kits based on the popular Mister Maker pre-school CBeebies TV show from Zodiak Rights.

Craft kit producer Creativity International teamed up with the supermarket for the month-long promotion, which launched on May 16th.

Mister Maker craft kits, which usually sell for £4.99 each, are now being offered as part of a ‘Buy 2 for £5’ deal.

Each kit comes in an A5 acetate pack "full of materials, ideas and hours of play value".

The promotion is taking place in 286 stores, each with a display unit containing eight different lines, including Mister Maker Sock Puppets, Pom Pom animals, Wild Animal Masks, Animal Hand Puppets, Pencil Toppers, Make a Face and a Sealife Puppets Kit exclusive to Tesco.

Alastair McHarrie, VP Consumer Products at Zodiak Rights, said: “In the first three days alone, this fantastic retail promotion with Tesco has generated sales of over 4,000 units.

"This strong retail performance, outperforming all sales forecasts, demonstrates the huge demand for Mister Maker products and we look forward to further extending the consumer product categories throughout 2013.”

Asha Purmessur, buyer at Tesco, added: "We are very happy with sales which have exceeded forecast. The best seller is the Mister Maker sock puppet kit which sold over 30 per cent of stock in less than a week."

Creativity’s Mister Maker arts and craft range also includes flexi hang packs, A4 bagged kits, A5 acetate kits, Mini Makes, boxed kits offering permanent storage, craft basics and creative colouring, plus there's more to come this year.
