Roald Dahl and Book People announce two-year partnership

Dedicated bookseller, Book People has partnered with The Roald Dahl Story Company, in a two-year licensing deal that will see the launch of exclusive gift lines including children’s bedroom decorations and social stationery.

The range will launch in September 2018, just in time for Roald Dahl Day – the biggest global author-led cultural moment, celebrated annually on the late author’s birthday.

The exclusive gift range will complement Book People’s existing strong offering of Roald Dahl books and will continue to bring the exciting and imaginative world of one of the UK’s most loved children’s authors to children and families through Book People’s well established direct to consumer channels.

“We are delighted to be working so closely with The Roald Dahl Story Company in developing our product range," commented Sarah Walden, group buying and merchandising director, Book People. "Roald Dahl and his works have played such a central role in children’s reading for decades and we are hugely excited to be able to expand that with our gift range.”

Lisa Ehlers, head of gift buying, Book People added: “At Book People we pride ourselves on bringing our customers the very best products from leading manufacturers, so we’re thrilled to team up with The Roald Dahl Story Company to ensure our bespoke gift range goes from strength to strength.”

“We’re really excited to be strengthening our partnership with Book People through this thoughtful, bespoke line of products," concludes Stephanie Griggs, licensing and design director at The Roald Dahl Story Company. "From Matilda, to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The BFG and James and the Giant Peach, we’re sure that via Book People’s varied routes to market, they will bring Roald Dahl’s adored stories to both new and existing fans.”
