As Roald Dahl Literary Estate’s Centenary celebrations begin, a brand new licensing program has launched.
New publishing releases include OUP’s Oxford Roald Dahl Dictionary, which complies the author’s use of language and will serve as a source of inspiration for new storytellers.
To mark the celebrations, eOne is also set to release the upcoming film The BFG next month, while Penguin Random House’s Roald Dahl publishing programme will feature a limited edition copy of The BFG with never before seen illustrations by Quentin Blake.
Plus, the Roald Dahl licensing programme, which focuses on The BFG, Matilda and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, will see a range of The BFG products hitting shelves this year.
For example, Rainbow Toys will launch a soft toy line featuring Whizzpopping BFG, while other product launches include bedding, stationery, gifting, greeting cards and dress-up.
Alicia Davenport, licensing director at DRi, said: "This is a fantastic year for the Roald Dahl brand and we’re excited that it will see a host of new products, the BFG serving as the rightful hero in this gloriumptious Centenary year.”
