Rocket Licensing has launched the UK licensing campaign for RoboCop.
The film is looking to spark licensing activity in categories including toys, games, apparel, accessories, collectibles, dress-up, interactive, publishing, posters, and gifts and novelties.
The campaign will also include classic posters, aimed at the strong market for fans of the original film.
‘Thanks to its leading character, its stunning imagery, and the many amazing machines and gadgets specially designed for the film, RoboCop will be the inspiration for a popular consumer products strategy across two demographics: boys from 10 upwards, and males from 18-35’ read a statement from Rocket.
The film opens in the UK today with movie tie-in products joining a range of classic products already appearing in stores throughout Q1 2014.
“RoboCop has remained an iconic figure since the first film’s release," said Charlie Donaldson, joint managing director, Rocket Licensing.
"Now, with its stunning modern digital effects, amazing technology, and brilliant cast, we truly have a RoboCop for the 21st century – and one with enormous licensing potential.”
