Rovio launches Angry Birds Blast

Rovio has unveiled the latest title in its Angry Birds gaming franchise with the launch of Angry Birds Blast.

The new balloon-blasting game features over 270 levels at launch, with more to be added every two weeks. The game will include landscapes and characters from across the Angry Birds universe.

Angry Birds Blast – a title that has been championed as a milestone in Rovio’s history – can be connected to Facebook, allowing gamers to play with friends, as well as check global leader boards.

“As the Angry Birds franchise enters its seventh year, Angry Birds Blast is a milestone in Rovio’s history that looks back at all that came before and, at the same time, gives fans something completely new, unique and fun,” said Heini Kaihu, VP of games at Rovio.

“Blast has already enjoyed a very promising soft launch in select territories, and I can’t wait for the rest of the world to join in the fun.”

Angry Birds Blast is developed in collaboration with the Shanghai-based studio MYBO. Watch the cinematic trailer for the game below:
