Rovio Entertaintment has signed a new licensing partnership with the global confectioner Perfetti Van Melle to develop an extensive range of Angry Birds branded Chup Chups products.
Six million units are set to be distributed across global markets next year and Rovio will unveil further key partnerships over the coming weeks.
This is the latest step in Rovio Entertainment’s mission of delivering a multi-year content roadmap for partners, led by the September 2019 theatrical release of The Angry Birds Movie 2.
In addition to the animated sequel being released globally by Sony Pictures Entertainment, Rovio is committed to developing a long-term and diverse slate of entertainment touchpoints for its fans.
The highlights include a new long-form animated series scheduled for 2020, an unscripted competition TV series, new live stage shows, location-based entertainment projects and original live-action and animated content.
