Phil Carroll, former head of book buying for Sainsbury’s Supermarkets, is to join Pedigree Books, initially as its interim head of sales.
Carroll is working alongside Matthew Reynolds, publishing director at Pedigree, with responsibility for driving forward Pedigree’s sales team across all sales channels and ranges which includes Annuals, Yearbooks, learning and seasonal activity formats for kids.
"I’m excited by the challenges and opportunities this role will offer and I’m looking forward to working with a great team of people and being part of a company with such a strong reputation in children’s publishing," said Carroll.
Reynolds added: “In view of the changing face of retail and the need for all suppliers to measure up, we have asked Phil to join us to help develop our existing trading models and relationships to further address the needs of our retail customers.
"Phil has a wealth of experience covering all books categories, which is particularly relevant to our licensed based approach to the market. We very much look forward to having Phil as part of our team.”
