Sega Europe strikes licensing deal which will see products arrive in June 2013.

Sambro on board for new Sonic games and puzzles

Sega has announced a fresh licensing deal with Sambro for Sonic the Hedgehog games and puzzles.

The UK toy manufacturer will design, manufacture and introduce Puzzles 2 Go, Board Games, Action Games (including Pinball, Four in a Row, Fire Balls, Air Hockey, Super Pinball, Rapid Fire, Magnetic Scribblers) and Boxed Puzzles.

Puzzles 2 Go are 48-piece puzzles which come in a zipped bag, making them ideal for travel. These will be the first products to roll out at retail in June 2013.

The new range of Sonic the Hedgehog games and puzzles will launch in the UK, Eire and the Channel Islands.

The full licensed Sonic the Hedgehog range already includes toys, bedding accessories and apparel, aimed at Sonic fans aged four to 11.

Sissel Henno, Head of Brand Licensing at Sega Europe, commented: “As one of the leading UK licensees we are looking forward to working with Sambro to develop a varied and exciting range of puzzles and games for Sonic.

"As a video game character, there is natural synergy with the type of fun action games that Sambro is known for. We really look forward to the launch of the first products later this year.”

Nikki Samuels, Managing Director of Sambro, added: “Sambro is really excited to work with Sega for Sonic on a range of puzzles and games.

"Sambro will be launching with a unique reusable packaging on the Sonic puzzles, retailing from £1.99 to £7.99, and available from June 2013.”
