Sesame Workshop has appointed former Nickelodeon exec Kay Wilson Stallings as its SVP of content development.
The new role will place Stallings in charge of creative development and pilot production globally of all original content for various platforms.
According to Deadline, she will also explore new productions models and partnerships in order to develop new programmes, processes and talent for the creative group.
Stallings previously held the long-term position of SVP of production and development at Nickelodeon where she looked after the development of all original content for Nickelodeon Preschool and Nick Jr. She developed more than 20 series during her tenure and helped developed kids’ shows such as LazyTown, Yo Gabba Gabba, Winx Club and Peter Rabbit.
“We are thrilled to have Kay on board to lead the charge on developing exciting new educational content,” said Brown Johnson, executive vice president and creative director, Sesame Workshop.
“Kay has an outstanding track record of bringing teams and ideas to life, that have led to some of the most successful children’s programmes around today and we look forward to her bringing that keen eye to new projects for the Workshop.”
