Shakespeare Birthplace Trust signs Iron Gut Publishing for limited edition artwork

The Shakespeare Birthplace Trust has signed Iron Gut Publishing as its latest licensee.

Iron Gut Publishing will create both open and limited edition prints featuring text from Shakespeare’s most famous plays as well as utilising imagery that the trust holds in its collections.

Each piece will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity containing information about Shakespeare and the work of the Trust.

The Shakespeare Inspired collection will launch in Selfridges Q1 2016.

"Limited edition artwork is a niche area but one we specialise in," said Anthony Marks, MD, Iron Gut Publishing.

"Iron Gut Publishing works in partnership with licensors to generate additional press and public interest in a brand, especially when there is an anniversary on the horizon. For the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust we will be creating affordable collectable artwork packaged specifically for the gift and home market with a prestige collection for the art gallery market."

Adam Sherratt, retail development manager at the Shakespeare Birthplace Trust, added: "We are delighted to be working with Iron Gut Publishing on a range of art prints incorporating our stunning Shakespeare Inspired artwork and celebrating some of Shakespeare’s most famous quotations. The contemporary design reflects Shakespeare’s relevance even today, 400 years after his death."
