The team behind YouTube hit Simon’s Cat has taken to crowdfunding platform IndieGoGo to raise funds for its first ever colour episode.
Titled ‘Off to the vet’, the special episode will follow the attempt’s by Simon’s Cat to avoid a trip to the vets.
As well as being the first colour Simon’s Cat, the episode will also be the longest in the series’ history at 11 minutes.
Since launching on YouTube in 2008, the series has gone on achieve over half a billion views and three million subscribers.
Simon’s Cat creator Simon Tofield said: “In the messages we receive from fans, a film about preparing for and visiting the vet is definitely the most common request.
“It’s a deep subject to explore, rich with the potential of loads of humour which is why we feel we’d like to make this our first broadcast length episode in colour. I am so grateful to our fans for their wonderful support!”
The campaign is looking to raise £275,850, and has already raised £123,357 with 21 days left.
