Sir Patrick Stewart to voice a poo in The Emoji Movie

Sir Patrick Stewart has been lauded for film roles in Star Trek and X-Men and has played many of Shakespeare’s greats.

However now, the thespian is tackling the challenge of voicing a poo emoji in the upcoming The Emoji Movie.

Stewart will take on the role of the bow-tie wearing character Poop in the movie slated for release this summer.

He will star alongside one time nemesis James Corden who will play Hi-Five and Maya Rudolph who will lend her voice to Smiler in the animated film.

Sony Pictures revealed the casting news via Twitter by declaring, via emojis, that Sir Patrick Stewart was ‘no party pooper’.

It is not the first time Stewart has deviated from the usual career path for thespians, having voiced roles in animated comedies such as Family Guy, American Dad and The Simpsons.
