The British Video Association has revealed that Skyfall was 2013’s bestselling DVD and Blu-ray, with 2.96m units sold since it landed on shelves in February.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey followed in second place, with 2.06 units sold since being released in April.
The entire top 10 of 2013’s best selling DVD and Blu-ray by volume is as follows:

- Despicable Me 2
- The Twilight Saga – Breaking Dawn Part 2
- Monsters University
- Star Trek – Into Darkness
- Django Unchained
- Life Of Pi
- Man Of Steel
Elsewhere, Screen reports that digital video entertainment spend rose by 40 per cent, while sales of Blu-rays are up 10 per cent.
According to BVA figures, DVDs and Blu-rays sold 162.2m units sold this year, with discs making up 73 per cent of the total video retail and rental sectors by value last year.
