Slate of global deals sees Betty Boop embark on ‘fierce worldwide expansion’

Betty Boop has embarked on a ‘fierce worldwide expansion,’ with over a dozen deals struck across new territories and global markets.

Among which, the iconic emblem of fashion and lifestyle has made her first entrance into previously untapped categories such as sportswear, fine arts and home décor.

Born in the 1930s, Betty Boop has endured as a rebellious, mischievous pop-culture icon. The style transformation into Modern Classic Betty began when Pantone paid tribute to the icon by developing her signature shade – Betty Boop Red.

The new look spurred new poses, outfits and fashion collaborations aimed at millennials. Most recently, Betty Boop presented the design challenge on an episode of Project Runway All-Stars and was at the heart of the popular Betty Boop x Project Runway All Stars presented by Torrid.

“Betty’s upbeat, celebratory and positive personality along with her love of being in the spotlight make her a natural fit for the recent collaborations we have launched,” said Carla Silva, VP and GM, global head of licensing for King Features.

King Features has secured deals across the US, Asia, the EU, South America and more.
