Spectre enjoys biggest opening of all time at UK box office

Having posted the biggest Tuesday and the biggest Wednesday ever at the UK box office, Spectre has now recorded the biggest opening of all time at the UK box office.

Screen reports that Sony’s latest Bond picture opened with £41.3m from a seven day opening, smashing the previous record holder Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban’s £23.88m opening.

Spectre’s predecessor Skyfall currently holds the records for the the fastest film to reach £50m at the UK box office (taking just ten days), the highest grossing film of all time in the UK, as well as being highest ever second weekend at UK box office; all of which Spectre will have in its sights.
