Comic book legend releases both physical and digital books and games in the US.

Stan Lee launches new Kids Universe brands

Stan Lee has launched a series of new books and games targeting younger children.

The 90-year-old comic book icon, and creator of Spider-Man and Avengers, has devised Kids Universe books, e-books and games based on fresh brands, reports USA Today.

The first Kids Universe book is Dani Jones’ Monsters vs. Kittens (pictured).

There’s also ‘A Story Before Bed’ version where Lee reads the book himself, which can be viewed on the iPad. Kids and parents can even record their own storytelling sessions and save them for later.

Lee has also launched smartphone app game Goobeez: Pirate Adventure, under the Kids Universe label, where players swipe their finger across the screen to make characters jump off a pirate ship and onto land.

"There really is no group of books for kids who are very young and have the excitement, the colour, the originality that kids are really looking for and will hold and grab them," Lee said.

"Whatever he or she has read or played with, we want that youngster to leave happy and entertained but also perhaps a little bit smarter and a little bit more educated than when they started."
