"We’re combining fantasy and reality, comedy and adventure for a superhero series unlike anything I’ve created before.

"These incredible actors have brought these alien superheroes to life even better than I could have imagined – if that’s even possible."

Gill Champion, president and CEO of Pow Entertainment, added: "Partnering with Archie Comics and A Squared Entertainment to create Stan Lee Comics is another exciting step for Pow Entertainment and Stan Lee.

"SLAM 7 is a prime example of the type of premiere projects we are committed to developing, and we can’t wait to introduce this new content to the fans."

The SLAM 7 trilogy begins with three feature-length films, a monthly comic book and animated television series to debut in 2015. The Hub Network has the world premiere of all three movies starting with the first movie, Beginnings, in early 2014.

SLAM 7 follows the adventures of superhero creator Stan Lee as he works on a new project for Archie Comics. He stumbles across a group of aliens, all on the run from the military. He invites the group of seven to live with him in Malibu.
