It’s notched up success within the video games space, and now Curve Digital is looking to expand its Stealth brand into the licensing arena.
The action puzzle game series has notched up over 500,000 units globally. A sequel is due to arrive at the end of October as an exclusive, major Nintendo release, with Curve expecting the game to be one of Nintendo’s biggest digital releases ever.
The firm is now looking to begin conversations with potential licensing partners, and will be attending Brand Licensing Europe this week.
"We think it has the right kind of art, name, logo and brand value to evolve gradually as a property with the right partner," explained Curve Digital chairman, Stuart Dinsey. "The brand has video game cred, but also neat animation, art and memorable taglines such as ‘A game of clones’ and ‘you are expendable’. And the clones are cute."
The ‘clone’ featured in the artwork is the main licensable asset, while there is also the Inflate-A-Mate, who is a companion to the clone during the game. In addition, Stealth 2 will introduce a number of creative and distinct enemies, including the Alarm Dog.
"We are exploring all options and would take advice of the experts," Dinsey continued. "We believe in the long-term development of the Stealth brand.
"After half a million sales and with a sequel coming, we are sure the right partner could tap into consumers. Like many others, we are heading to BLE to start conversations and offer new business opportunities."
