Studio Ghibli theme park to open in 2022

Japan’s beloved animation house Studio Ghibli is finally getting its own theme park in 2020, bringing films like Howl’s Moving Castle, Kiki’s Delivery Service and Princess Mononoke to life.

Ghibli Park will be located on a 200-hectare plot of land on which the 2005 World’s Fair was held near Nagoya, Japan.

True to the pro-environmental themes of Hayao Miyazaki’s films, the park will give fans the chance to celebrate the films while enjoying nature.

As well as Ghibli-themed rides and play areas, the park will also feature movie theatres, showing Ghibli animations new and old.
