Firm to license Peermusic's portfolio of song lyrics, which spans everything from ‘You Raise Me Up’ to Katy Perry’s ‘Firework’.

Sunny Side Up signs global deal with independent music publisher Peermusic

Lyric licensing agency Sunny Side Up has signed a global deal with leading independent music publisher Peermusic.

Peermusic boasts an extensive catalogue with songs ranging from ‘You Are My Sunshine’ through to ‘You Raise Me Up’, alongside more recent hits ‘Firework’ and ‘Umbrella’.

The company also holds the rights to the catalogues of artists such as Buddy Holly, Donovan and Hoagy Carmichael.

“We are very pleased to add the peermusic catalogue to the roster of rights that Sunny Side Up represents," said Michael Gottlieb, managing partner at Sunny Side Up Licensing.

"The Peermusic catalogue contains some timeless lyrics that will translate beautifully onto a wide range of products.”

Nigel Elderton, European president of Peermusic, added: “This is a very exciting development for all parties and we look forward to seeing our songwriters’ lyrics on a wide variety of consumer products.”
