SuperAwesome, the team behind Box of Awesome, has partnered with Scholastic UK to find the next generation of authors and IP creators.
Reaching over 200 million kids every month and a wealth of developers, the new partnership will see SuperAwesome connect media, animation and indie-game bods with Scholastic for publishing and licensing opportunities.
The publishing house aims to replicate the success of previous properties to have emerged from the Scholastic platform, including the likes of The Hunger Games and Captain Underpants.
Additionally, SuperAwesome’s insights team will work closely with Scholastic to test a range of content concepts and initiatives in the book market.
“Working with SuperAwesome is a pioneering relationship, their experience across video games, consumer products and technology will be invaluable to us as we continue to find the best new voices and IP,” said David Maybury, commissioning editor, Scholastic UK.
“This is the first of some exciting opportunities Scholastic children’s Books will have this year, ensuring we are at the forefront of kids books and media through unique creative partnerships.”
Dylan Collins, CEO of SuperAwesome, added: “This is a ground-breaking partnership. With so much incredible content being created in the kids’ space by both indie developers and the kids themselves, it can be very easy to miss the next Zoella of Flappy Bird.
“We’re in a unique position across this ecosystem as we have a huge amount of new content flowing through our platform.”
