Superman prequel TV series heads to Syfy

Having given Batman the prequel treatment on the small screen with Gotham, DC is doing the same for Superman with a new TV series called Krypton.

Set to air on Syfy, the show, from Warner Horizon Television and DC Comics, is being developed by David S. Goyer, writer on the Dark Knight trilogy and Man of Steel.

The Hollywood Reporter states that the show will takes place years before Man of Steel, instead following Superman’s grandfather as he brings hope and equality to the troubled planet of Krypton.

Once Upon a Time’s Ian Goldberg will pen the script and exec produce alongside Goyer and both conceived the story for the show.
