Skinnydip London partners Bulldog Licensing to launch Care Bears apparel and accessories

Skinnydip London has partnered with Bulldog Licensing to introduce a large new collection of apparel and accessories based on the much-loved character IP, Care Bears.

The range will feature accessories such as hats, bags, phone cases, make-up bags, and more, as well as apparel lines such as cardigans, cropped vests, t-shirts, hoodies, and nightwear. The 31 piece collection offers something to appeal to fans of Care Bears and the Care-A-Lot lore.

The designs include fun slogans, super soft faux fur materials, and dreamy pastel prints as the perfect tribute to the evergreen Care Bears brand.

Launched nearly 40 years ago, the Care Bears can currently be found airing in the UK on Tiny Pop in the latest series, Care Bears: Unlock the Magic.

Meanwhile, the brand is now present at retail across categories including apparel, publishing, partyware, and accessories. Bulldog Licensing plans to build on the existing licensing programme and further the reach that the Care Bears currently have in the UK for babies, young children, and adults.

“We’re thrilled to have Skinnydip London on board and it’s sure to be a big hit with the property’s adult fans,” said Sole Puerto, senior creative manager at Bulldog Licensing. “We’re looking forward to continuing to grow the consumers products programme at a time when heritage brands are particularly strong for consumers.”

Roubina Tchoboian, VP of international licensing, Cloudco Entertainment, added: “We love the way that Skinnydip London incorporated the playful, whimsical nature of the Care Bears into their pieces and are eager to see how our fans react to this fun and colourful collection.”

Bulldog Licensing signs Bioworld for Care Bears apparel and accessories

Bioworld is on board to create and launch a range of apparel and accessories inspired by the popular Cloudco Entertainment brand, Care Bears, targeting kids of all ages as the Care Bears licensing programme continues to grow.

Fast approaching its 40th anniversary, Care Bears continues to appeal to a wide range of fans, encouraged in their purveyance of the brand by an ever-increasing licensing portfolio, managed in the UK by Bulldog Licensing. The latest partnership with Bioworld will act to leverage the universal love for the property.

Fashion partners for the Care Bears brand already include the likes of Tikiboo and its athleisure range, Irregular Choice and its footwear line, and Dolls Kill with its clothing collection. The brand even returned to the kids’ aisles earlier this year when Basic Fun launched its toy line.

Having been met with strong sales and keen reception in the US market, Basic Fun recently launched its toy range to the UK where it is currently experiencing very strong sell-through already. The range is being supported with a heavyweight marketing campaign featuring two TVCs for both its plush and interactive Care Bears.

Meanwhile, the Care Bears’ broadcast partner Tiny Pop is supporting the series Care Bears: Unlock the Magic with daily slots on the channel. New partnerships with Sky and Moonbug now further position Care Bears for significant growth in the kids market here in the UK.

Bioworld joins other children’s partners, including Zak for homewares, Whitehouse Leisure, Redan, Aardvark, Crackerjack, and the Fun to Learn magazine.

Rob Corney, MD of Bulldog Licensing, said: “We’re thrilled to have Bioworld on board for Care Bears apparel. The brand has built a strong following over the past 38 years and has devoted fans who grew up with Care Bears, as well as an ever-growing following of little ones who are discovering the brand for the first time.”

Roubina Tchoboian, VP of international licensing, added: “Bioworld joins at an exciting time for Care Bears, as the brand is continuously building with a range of best-in-class partners creating show-stopping ranges and collaborations.”

Bulldog Licensing secures three new apparel partners for Care Bears

The well-loved and evergreen Care Bears brand is growing its presence in the children’s and adult apparel sector, thanks to a string of new partnership signed up by its European agency, Bulldog Licensing.

Cohen and Wilks, Tikiboo, and Park Agencies have each struck up new agreements with the property that will see them develop a range of adult and babywear clothing, all scheduled to hit shelves over the coming year.

Established design and clothing company, Cohen and Wilks International Holdings, will launch a collection of ladies’ nightwear, underwear, and babywear based on the nurturing bears who first launched in 1982. Some 38 years later, Care Bears’ new 2D animated Care Bears: Unlock the Magic airs daily on Tiny Pop and is also available through Lionsgate for home entertainment and VOD from Netflix.

Activewear brand, Tikiboo, will create a new range of sportswear and continue to expand its licensed offering with the new Care Bears deal. The extensive collection is designed for sports fans of all ages and is set to feature Care Bears-inspired leggings, tank tops, hoodies, bags, t-shirts, shorts, base layers, running jackets, sports bras and running scarves.

Leading licensed apparel designer and developer, Park Agencies is also on board in the UK, and will develop a selection of adult apparel including ladies’ and men’s daywear and nightwear.

The new licensees join a consumer product offering which is already present across retail. Bulldog Licensing, which handles licensing in the UK and Eire, has secured several deals for the property over the last year, and the new licensees reflect the agency’s plans to expand Care Bears’ reach the UK for babies, girls and adults.

In addition to its new Care Bears: Unlock the Magic that launched last year on Tiny Pop and immediately raced up the ratings charts, new master toy partner Basic Fun! will be launching a new line of plush, plastic, and electronic toys this autumn in the UK.

Rob Corney, Bulldog Licensing’s MD, said: “Care Bears is so well loved in the UK that we have to be incredibly careful to select partners who will respect the brand’s heritage and deliver product which will be accepted and loved by its many fans. Cohen and Wilks, Tikiboo and Park Agencies are the perfect partners to do this and we are excited to work with them on the new collections.”
