Surge Licensing to lead Stanley Kubrick programme for North America

Leading global licensing agency Surge Licensing has been appointed by the Stanley Kubrick Film Archives and Caroline Mickler Ltd, global licensing agent for the brand, to develop a North American licensing and retail programme inspired by six iconic features from the visionary filmmaker: The Shining, Full Metal Jacket, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Barry Lyndon, Eyes Wide Shut and the dystopian masterpiece A Clockwork Orange, which continues its 50th Anniversary celebration this year.

Surge Licensing, collaborating with Mickler, will create a unique licensing and retail campaign across North America that will pay homage to Kubrick’s extraordinary work and its enduring popularity with millions of fans around the world, focusing on the development of merchandise across multiple key categories including apparel/fashion, accessories, toys, games, collectibles, gift, novelty, paper goods and lifestyle collaborations. Products are anticipated to begin debuting at retail in Q4 2022.

Caroline Mickler Ltd appointed as global agent for Stanley Kubrick classics

Caroline Mickler Ltd has been appointed by The Stanley Kubrick Film Archive as global licensing agent for a number of Stanley Kubrick’s best-known works.

In this role the award-winning independent company will build on the success of the Warner Bros global licensing programme for six of Stanley Kubrick’s iconic films: The Shining, Full Metal Jacket, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Barry Lyndon, Eyes Wide Shut and A Clockwork Orange, which continues its 50th anniversary celebrations in 2022.

Stanley Kubrick created genre-defining worlds for his films, using stunning imagery and designs that are uniquely recognisable to this day. It is the visually striking nature of these films, along with their classic status, that Caroline Mickler plans to translate into a truly original licensing campaign focusing on the delivery of unique products across multiple categories.

Brand collaborations, fashion collections and fan-based merchandise are all expected to play a role in a carefully curated licensing programme that will pay homage to Stanley Kubrick’s extraordinary work and its enduring popularity with millions of fans around the world.

He proved his genius across multiple genres, including war, science fiction, satire, horror, historical drama and much more, gaining a reputation as a true visionary, whose works have influenced innumerable filmmakers and remain popular to this day.

Caroline Mickler named UK licensing agency for Surge Brands’ Toxic Waste Sour Candy

Caroline Mickler Ltd. has been appointed as the exclusive UK Licensing Agency on behalf of Surge Brands Inc, to develop a brand licensing campaign for Candy Dynamics Toxic Waste Hazardously Sour Candy.

“I am thrilled to be representing this dynamic brand which has a huge following,” said Caroline Mickler. “Launched in the UK in 2005 by distributor Newbridge Confectionery, the brand is recognized as the number one sour novelty product in the market place and has achieved extensive retail distribution including in Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Martin McColls, B&M, The Range, Home Bargains and Spar.”

Recent times have seen kids and adults alike take on the Toxic Waste extreme challenge, a game played where the winner is able to hold the ultra-sour candy in their mouth for at least 60 seconds and claim the honour of becoming a Full Toxie Head.

The challenges are uploaded on YouTube by fans of all ages.

Toxic Waste was featured on Channel 4’s “Heston Blumenthal Fantastical Food” as the Ultimate Super Sour Product currently available today.

Caroline Mickler teams with Iconic Images to represent iconic fashion photographer Norman Parkinson

Caroline Mickler Ltd has teamed up with Iconic Images to represent Norman Parkinson, most commonly recognised as one of the most important and celebrated fashion photographers of the 20th century.

With a career spanning the 1950s to ’80s, including a long collaboration with Vogue Magazine, Parkinson’s images are known for capturing the style of the 20th century; from pre-war 1930s Britain and the austerity fashions of World War Two, the Parisian New Look of the 1950s and Swinging London in the 1960s, to the glamour and glitz of the 1970s and ’80s. 

In the 1970s, his images helped elevate new models Jerry Hall and Iman to superstar status.

ITV’s The Masked Singer makes move for consumer products with Caroline Mickler

The ITV reality talent show, The Masked Singer, is moving into the consumer products space. Argonon, the international super-indie production group has tasked Caroline Mickler Ltd to develop a UK licensing programme inspired by the series, tapping into the ‘creatively designed merchandise’ market.

Argonon is an independent production group based in London and New York and led by a board of creatives. The group conists of seven companies producing multi-award winning programming for a range of broadcasters including BBC, ITV, Channel 4, and more.

The Masked Singer is produced by Bandicoot TV, one of the seven companies making up Argonon.
