Moonbug acquires One Animation, the studio behind Emmy-nominated Oddbods

Moonbug Entertainment, a part of Candle Media, has announced the acquisition of One Animation, a Singapore-based media company and production studio. The company is best known for creating and producing the hugely popular, three-time Emmy nominated series Oddbods, an action-packed, non-dialogue animated show loved by children around the world.

Moonbug will look to expand Oddbods’ global distribution footprint and grow the brand into new formats, products and experiences.

Signature Publishing partners with One Animation for Oddbods magazine

Signature Publishing and One Animation have inked a deal to launch a dedicated Oddbods-themed issue of Signature’s successful changing-theme magazine for preschool children, ‘ADVENTURES WITH’. Under the partnership, the ‘ADVENTURES WITH Oddbods’ issue will go on sale in the UK from 10 February.

One Animation’s Oddbods is a global phenomenon, airing in 180 countries across 90 broadcasters worldwide. The brand has also generated 25 billion digital views and averages 14 million views on YouTube per day.

The magazine will follow the quirky but charming Oddbods on their adventures and will feature branded stories, puzzles, colouring and more. The magazine will also include a pizza set toy, which ties in with the magazine content and provides imaginative play value.

One Animation’s Oddbods heads to Sky Kids in the UK

Award-winning content creation, distribution and licensing studio One Animation has secured a new deal with Sky Kids in the UK for its hit CG-animated series Oddbods. Under the deal, Sky Kids has acquired rights for season three of Oddbods’ long-form series (60 x 8’) and the seasonal special ‘The Festive Menace’ (1 x 23’).

The Oddbods content will launch on Sky Kids from Friday 17 December. In the UK, previous seasons of Oddbods have been licensed by Turner (now WarnerMedia) as part of an EMEA wide deal, as well as ITV.

One Animation adds new fan experiences and product ranges for Oddbods

Singapore-based creation, distribution and licensing studio One Animation is finding new ways to bring hit CG-animated property Oddbods to fans, securing new seasonal activations and consumer products partnerships in Europe and Asia.

In the Netherlands, One Animation has inked a deal with Just In Between Pictures for an Oddbods Halloween-themed 55-minute theatrical experience, consisting of two existing extended 22-minute length specials – ‘Party Monsters’ and ‘Oddbeard’s Curse’ – and seven-minute ‘Halloween Heroes’ episode. The experience is currently available across 75 local cinemas.

In Malaysia, One Animation’s local consumer products agent ANIMONSTA Studios has secured a new publishing deal with Ladybug for a range spanning activity books and interactive products, which will launch in Q4 2021 across extensive local retail and distribution networks. A further deal has also been signed in the territory with Dr Mama for self-sanitising kids’ fabric face masks and additional personal care items, such as hand sanitisers, with the collection launch scheduled for Q1 2022.

In the US, Peacock has recently debuted 20 half-hour compilations of the short-form version of Oddbods and season one of Insectibles on its platform. Ketchup TV has acquired VOD rights to season one of Oddbods’ long-form series and themed compilations for the US, UK and Australia. Also for the UK, Discovery has picked up season two of Oddbods’ short-form series and renewed its deal for short-form season one for Discovery’s VOD services.

For Latin America, WarnerMedia has taken SVOD rights for HBOMax for season three of Oddbods’ long-form series and seasonal special ‘The Festive Menace’ (1 x 22’), with both titles also available on Cartoon Network and Boomerang. The long-form version of Oddbods seasons one and two, as well as themed compilations, are also now available on Amazon Prime in new territories, including France, Japan and Latin America.

In a further deal, the Indonesian digital content distributor Migo has taken Oddbods’ short-form compilations (81 x 5’) for its SVOD content delivery network via Migo Download Stations hosted at local retail locations. Additionally, to create a unique experience in-store, customers who purchase Migo’s entertainment pass will receive Oddbods character face masks to help in the fight against COVID-19.

Oddbods focuses on children’s mindfulness in new series Oddbods: Busy Bodies

One Animation is launching a new iteration of its animated series Oddbods, placing a new focus on helping kids relieve stress, move their bodies, and engage in imaginative play.

Called Oddbods: Busy Bodies, the show will place emphasis on mindfulness in children with each episode in the series hosted by the veteran yoga therapist and teacher trainer, Hersha Chellaram, a specialist in children’s and accessible yoga. The series, a mix of live action and animation, is debuting on the AVOD Safe Streaming service, Kidoodle TV this week.

Oddbods: Busy Bodies encourages children to get active and use their imaginations as they participate in adventures with Hersha and the Oddbods characters to locations including space, a winter wonderland, the park, or enjoying a rainy day at home. During each episode, Hersha guides viewers through movement, stretching and breathing exercises while participating with the Oddbods to achieve their goals.

Hersha Chellaram is a certified Integral Yoga instructor with expertise in bringing the complete practice of yoga to adults and children of all ages and abilities, including those with special needs, disabilities and chronic health conditions. Hersha was selected for the list of 20 Yoga Teachers of Colour to Watch in 2020, and the 2014 Women of Hope Award as Children’s Advocate, presented by the Hong Kong Adventist Hospital Foundation.

Dress-up specialist Rubies Masquerade UK picks up popular pre-school series Oddbods

The popular animated pre-school series Oddbods is getting into the dress up game thanks to a new partnership the leading dress-up manufacturer, Rubies Masquerade UK.

Under the deal with the award-winning content creation and licensing studio, One Animation, Rubies has secured the dress-up rights for the Oddbods characters across the UK, EMEA, and South East Asia.

The range is set to launch in AW21 and will feature a line of children’s costumes aligned with the latest Oddbods content, bringing key elements of the show, including a Fuse and Pogo costume to retailers and pre-school audiences.

The Oddbods are coming to a fish and chip shop near you, thanks to Keco Ltd partnership

The cast of the popular animated pre-school series, Oddbods, will be coming to a fish and chip shop near you.

The content creation and licensing studio, One Animation, has secured a new partnership with the packaging manufacturer Keco Ltd to the launch of bespoke, sustainable, and responsibly sourced children’s meal boxes inspired by the animated pre-school series, Oddbods.

Launching this month, the premium takeaway meal boxes will be available at 7,000 fish and chip shops across the UK and will feature an Oddbods pop-out character for children to play with. The boxes will be plastic free and use only FSC sustainably sourced paperboard.

One Animation lands Disney Channels US deal for Oddbods Halloween and Christmas specials

One Animation has secured a new deal with Disney Channels US to bring a package of long-form seasonal specials and shorts of the popular animated comedy series Oddbods to air across Disney XD, Disney Junior, and in DisneyNOW for the coming Halloween and Christmas period.

The Halloween-themed special Party Monsters and the Christmas-themed special The Festive Menace will air on Disney XD, Disney Junior, and in DisneyNOW. Also part of the package is pirate adventure Oddbeard’s Curse, and additional Halloween and Christmas shorts, which will air on Disney XD and in DisneyNOW.
